Lunar Phases
The Dark Moon
Hello my loves.
In my own personal practice, I am welcoming in this Dark Moon phase.
The Dark Moon, throughout history, has been a time of banishment, letting go, cutting cords, and filtering out anything in our lives that isn’t of the highest good.
Not to dismiss or bypass, but in ancient rites and ceremonies, it was a time to have a funeral for parts of ourselves, to let them die, to let them be gone, so something new and deeply ancient can return.
This, this cycle is the formation of all creation.
Letting go to bring forth.
We see this in creation stories, of Inanna, the ancient goddess who descends to then rise.
We see this in the wombic space, of eggs being released and then being shed, allowing for life to die, to then have the opportunity for a new cycle to come through.
In our own lives, modern lives, we aren’t as in touch with these ancient rhythms, causing a huge sense of dis-ease internally, thinking that one must be “on” or producing, when in fact, our ancients knew this isn’t the case.
How can we reclaim this ancient remembrance?
By working deeply with the Moon phase and her magic.
Under this deep and howling Moon, you can think of it as a banishment, a letting go, a deep cleansing.
If you are more imagery-based or feeling-based, imagine or feel this time of the Moon phase to be one of Halloween, Samhain, a portal thin, like the water signs of Pisces, Scorpio, or Cancer. This time is deeply potent, one of great spiritual intensity and emotion.
During this time, I have many practices, rituals, cleansings you can do, a deeply specific time for each person, depending on one’s own soul journey right now.
